Defining Space and Creating a Stir in Brooklyn

In his Williamsburg studio, Matt Gagnon creates the sculptural furniture pieces that have grabbed the attention of the entire design world. He has a passion for the exploration of innovative eco-materials such as reclaimed wood and paper and is constantly experimenting with how these materials can be used in new architectural contexts. When he was featured in the New York Times for a stunning eco-friendly loft renovation, it became apparent that his large scale work is the stuff of design legend. His website, Mattstudio.com, showcases his body of residential design work as well as his dreamy line of ready made and custom-crafted furniture. Most recognizable and practical are his Grid Walls that can define and divide space and are sold by the square foot. Also impressive are his box chandelier and these stoneware ceramic lamp clusters – both of which are custom crafted to best work within the space.
