Just in time…with the first fall chill in the air, it’s time to order your cord of wood for the hearth and time to consider a comfy sheepskin throw to relax on in front of the fire. While the ivory variety has been around for some time, consider how fresh and inviting sheepskin looks in chocolate, champagne, taupe or black. A 4×6 area rug from Neimans retails for $469. For the “tradionalists” out there, dwr.com offers a great value with their large sheepskin throw (3×5) in natural ivory, priced at $198.

Kartell does it again with their fabulously mod interpretations of classic designs for the home. We love the “bourgie” lamp, a baroque inspired design made of transparent polycarbonate. The lamp comes in transparent crystal (clear) or matte black. Can be found at Hivemodern.com for $287.

Another whimsical find is Jon Russell’s Ghost Candelabra which has a lucite base and four glass cups to hold standard tapers. Available at beachdwelling.com for only $49! Objects that will still have their place in your home long after the candy is gone!

Something tells us that black is going to be the new color for accessories and for lighting. We noticed it in one of the Shelter mags this summer; a beautiful collection of black (yes not white) vases. We think this trend could be moving towards lighting as well. Check out www.dwr.com for their ever so Goth interpretation of a more classic Murano Glass Chandelier. We also found some lower price alternatives on www.greatchandeliers.com. Don’t be afraid by the ultra-glitzy sparkly chandeliers, in black they dont look so bad. At price points this low so what if it is just a passing Halloween trick or treat.

Looking for new stools to jazz up your kitchen, wet bar or other living space? We love the elegant lines of the “Fold Stool” by Twentieth www.twentieth.net . These barstools are versatile and refined enough to look equally fabulous in a city loft or a modern suburban kitchen. A retro classic is the Hudson barstool from DWR www.designwithinreach.com in polished aluminum. It comes with a price tag ($1,600) but is made to last 150 years and can be used indoors and out. Can’t say that about every seating option in your home!
