Add zest to your Decor with a Splash of Orange

Add zest to your home with a splash of Orange. The vibrant color can be a bit overpowering, but when used as an accent color it can really make a room pop. We love the modern effect when the color is paired with chrome or steel, as shown in the made to order Albrizzi Trestle Desk, specially produced for Liz O'Brien. Available in other colors as well. Price $6500.

Vintage pieces upholstered in the color orange can really refreshen antiques. Pieces Inc. has some great one-of-a-kind items such as a set of French arm chairs upholstered in orange with a striking white leather back. Pair sells for $2950.

Likewise, an elaborately detailed piece like the Rococo style dresser painted in a high-gloss hue creates an amazing juxtaposition between tradiitional and trendy. Poldo Como piece is made to order at The Conran Shop.

Create instant personality for a room with wallpaper designs produced in bright orange. The "summer showers" and "harlequin" patterns are from
Custom Design Projects. For a casual, beachy look, pair with white gloss wainscotting. The complementary color of orange is azure, so anything from a sophisticated dove gray (paint, furniture or objets) to accents of sky blue will look fabulous paired with orange.

Try placing this vivid hue underfoot to add interest to an otherwise neutral decor. For a glamorous look, mix mirrored or silver leaf pieces with the Martini Creme & Tangerine rug from Madeline Weinrib Atelier.

Enjoy the tangy charm of this brilliant hue!
