Company Profile

Launched in Fall 2006, blinkdecor.com is the preeminent guide to online decorating and renovating for the confident interior design enthusiast. Blinkdecor.com offers practical overviews and links directly to e-commerce resources for the fashionable home. The site features a well edited mix of modern, contemporary, antique and eclectic vendors cataloged by category, as well as an editorial "Eye on Design" and interactive Blog component.

Anne Carr and Connie Dirvin created blinkdecor.com after each successfully completed their own home renovations in Darien, Connecticut. As busy mothers with a passion for modern home décor, Connie and Anne were determined to find design and renovating resources that were easily accessed via the Internet. Through persistent research and some trial and error, they tailored a list of vendors to meet a high standard of style and customer service with the luxury of web-accessed convenience.

About Anne:

Anne has always been interested in all avenues of design. An avid collector of mid-century antiques, she has a confident eye and a talent for reinventing a space to maximize its purpose. While in Manhatten, Anne earned a Masters degree in Psychology from NYU and had a career in finance. In 1998, she moved to Darien and focused on raising her children. She developed an interest in photography and has studied at The Silvermine Guild Arts Center in New Canaan. Last year she completed the renovation of her 1920s French Chateau style home. The original layout was transformed to be more conducive to a modern family without sacrificing the original integrity of the architecture. To be more proficient, Anne turned to the internet and found design inspiration and useful advice from online boutiques. She has found some of her favorite pieces through the online vendors featured on blinkdecor. com.

About Connie:

After attending UC Santa Barbara, Connie moved to New York City and worked in advertising as a media planner. She went on to hold an executive merchandising and buying position at J. McLaughlin. In 1994 Connie moved to Connecticut where she focused on family and creative projects including stylized home video production. After decorating numerous Manhattan apartments, Connie was excited to live in a home that she could truly transform. Last year Connie completed renovating and redecorating a 1927 Colonial. While the outside architecture of her home is quite traditional, Connie modernized the inside of the space to reflect a clean, minimalistic aesthetic. In her home, everything from unique cabinet hardware to her favorite barcelona chairs has been confidently purchased online.
